Top 10 CBD Oil Benefits

Ten health problems CBD might help with

By Mell Green

Rapidly, more and more studies are being conducted to investigate new avenues for one major therapeutic agent, CBD (cannabidiol). And, as its reputation continues to build, one might ask why this form of treatment seems so promising? Well, unlike traditional medications, CBD provides – in most cases – the same level of relief from a range of health conditions, without the negative side effects. Although there are a number of ways to administer CBD, the use of CBD oil therapy has grown astronomically in recent years. So, let’s dive in and take a quick look at what we know about the promising potential of CBD.

1. Homeostasis

Herbicides, insecticides, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, fungus, molds, are all toxins that almost always puts our physiological systems under assault. Luckily, there’s a way to get your house back in order, and it’s called homeostasis. The endocannabinoid system is comprised of endocannabinoids that interact with receptors found throughout the body. During this reaction, neurotransmitters get released and are used to transmit messages to help keep your body in a healthy, balanced state. Knowing this, CBD oil may help achieve homeostasis, as it interrelates with the functioning of systems in the body by providing antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins to neutralize toxins.

2. Pain

Sufferers of chronic pain are typically prescribed opioid painkillers, however, while they may seem effective initially, over time they lose their effectiveness. This causes a tolerance in the body, which makes opioids far from ideal and has left many desperately searching for a solution beyond the use of addictive and ineffective medications. Without causing addiction, CBD oil is a natural alternative that can effectively manage chronic pain. It has the ability to address physical discomfort in the body and can even prevent nervous system degeneration, so if you’re suffering from different forms of pain or tension, you may find relief from CBD oil therapy.

Many don't realize that CBD works exceedingly well as a cream or ointment

3. Skin

Often used internally (ingested), CBD oil can also be applied topically. This health benefit may come as a surprise, but since cannabidiol stimulates the endocannabinoid system, one can expect healthier skin. CBD oil can treat a variety of skin conditions including dry skin, eczema, and acne by encouraging abnormal cell death. CBD oil contains vitamin E, among many other nutrients, so beauty fanatics will find it to be a true treasure trove. Not only does it improve and protect the skin, but it also helps regulate the skin’s oil production, which is what controls how skin cells proliferate.

4. Sleep

Now and then or more often than not, a person has trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, and there are a whole host of reasons to explain why. Excessive stress and other external forces or circumstances disturbing your circadian rhythm may cause a person to turn to sleep-aid drugs for relief. However, they often cause the body to become dependent. Because cannabidiol doesn’t create any dependency, it’s thought to be an effective and all-natural remedy for loss of sleep. With this in mind, if you’re having trouble getting a full night’s rest, you may be able to find relief by taking a dose of CBD oil before bed.

Inflammation can be the root cause of many different ailments.

5. Inflammation

Inflammation is the main cause of chronic pain and becoming an increasingly significant problem plaguing today’s society. When the body is chronically inflamed, it can cause countless problems to run rampant, including heart disease, diabetes, lung issues, and more. Fortunately, research has clinically proven that CBD oil is an effective treatment for reducing chronic inflammation that leads to disease, all without causing dependency or adverse side effects typical of painkillers. Because CBD oil contains pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, it works by inhibiting neuronal communication through the pain pathways in the body; as a result, reducing the experience of pain.

6. Appetite

Lack of appetite is almost always short-lived, and more often than not, it does not require any specific medical attention. However, it is not just a matter of “pushing past it” for most sufferers of low appetite. In some cases, symptoms of underlying conditions could be the root cause for a loss of appetite, and although cannabidiol does not directly influence the endocannabinoid system to stimulate hunger (munchies) as THC does, a healthy appetite might occur anyway. This is because cannabidiol helps keep your endocannabinoid system balanced and operating at its fullest potential by reducing inflammation and thereby, alleviating symptoms.

7. Addiction

Addiction is a toxic love affair that’s both magnetic and self-destructive. But rest assured, no matter what the addiction is, evidence suggests that CBD oil may help people cope with addiction. Since low dopamine levels are usually seen in people with addiction problems, it’s compelling to learn that cannabidiol helps curb addictions and cravings by indirectly stimulating the dopamine production of neurons in the midbrain. Results will show a boost in motivation, healthy decision making, and an improved mood. As mentioned earlier, cannabidiol doesn’t cause dependence or intolerance, so CBD oil is an excellent choice for those trying to recover.

8. Anxiety

Emotional homeostasis is critical to reducing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as helping to stabilize other psychological conditions that usually require medication. CBD oil works in a similar way to antidepressant drugs called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), except it doesn’t give users the same unpleasant side effects typically associated with SSRIs. It’s believed that CBD oil can help with mental stresses and depressions because it interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which among many other things, is responsible for mood and the nervous system. CBD oil can help with PTSD, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

CBD can help to avoid this common heart problem.

9. Heart

Heart disease is a growing problem today, but treating with CBD oil may be able to help. Inflammation and oxidative stress are often two factors that can significantly increase the likelihood of a person developing heart disease. To further explain, when your arteries become damaged, it can cause quite a buildup of plaque. Left untreated, this causes an increase in blood pressure or even a heart attack. Research shows that CBD oil therapy can reduce inflammation, help protect your arteries from getting damaged or being obstructed, and can also reduce stress-induced cardiovascular response, as well as reduce blood pressure.

10. Cancer

Although research is in its early stages, what is available on the role of CBD oil in cancer treatment looks promising in animals. Research suggests that CBD oil unravels cancer’s aliveness by slowing the growth and spread of different cancers, as well as help alleviate symptoms and side effects of cancer treatment. This is because cannabidiol fights oxidative stress and inflammation (both are linked to cancer), which changes how cell reproduce and reduces the ability of some types of cancer cells to reproduce in the body. So, it makes sense that CBD oil could help fight off cancer cell growth. Unfortunately, (although promising) we will have to wait on further research to be conducted before we can say anything conclusive on this subject.
