Named after its creator, Bubba Kush is a medium strength indica that has earned quite the notoriety in the US because of its medicinal properties.
Heritage & Genetics: Since the cross-pollination of an OG Kush and an unknown indica which originated in New Orleans, back in 1996, this Kush has gone by the moniker ‘Bubba’, after the breeder’s nickname. Not much else is known about the heritage of this ambiguous indica hybrid.
Flavor & Aroma: The aroma and flavor of Bubba Kush can best be described as a combination of coffee and dark chocolate with a nutty undertone. It also carries the typical, slightly hashish-like sweet, earthy pine forest palette that we are familiar with in the Kush genetic line.
Effect: Bubba Kush’s effects are in line with what you’d expect from an almost 100% indica. After a couple of puffs, you will begin to feel the body and muscle relaxing sensation that can make your eyes droop with sleepiness. Luckily, due to its medium-high THC level of 18%, these effects are never too overwhelming.
Medical: Ongoing research has suggested that high THC and low CBD strains may have potential benefits including stimulating appetite and relieving symptoms of Glaucoma. Although thought to be more effective when working together with CBD, THC is also understood to have some pain-relieving properties on its own. Considering this, this high THC strain may also provide some relief from general aches and pains.
Grow characteristics: Bubba Kush grows well in any environment but gives the best result when growing indoors and using hydroponics. Screen- and Sea of Green methods also work well with this particular strain. Bubba Kush is very resistant to molds and pests, so it’s an ideal strain for beginners. Just watch out for extreme temperature fluctuations, since the plant is susceptible to heat stress.
