Blueberry has been a long time favorite among indica lovers and medical patients since the 1970’s. Strong, flavorsome and consistent, she has much to offer to both experienced cannabis smokers and those new to the wonderful world of indicas.
Heritage & Genetics: Thought to have first been bred by legendary American breeder DJ Short, Blueberry has spread far and wide since those hazy 70’s days and become a worldwide phenomenon. You will regularly find her in the coffeeshops of Amsterdam. A potent mixture of Afghani Indica x Thai Sativa x Purple Thai Sativa; you will also recognize the notes of Mexican Haze in her background.
Flavor & Aroma: What is in a name? Well, in this case, pretty much all you need to know. This blue leaf beauty even shows her character in the buds and can cure to a lovely lavender-blue color. She also has a true-blue, fruity taste, including raspberry as well as blueberry. The aroma is pungent and sweet with hints of vanilla and earthiness.
Effect: Definitely, a girl to snuggle up with at home of an evening; Blueberry produces a long-lasting, deeply relaxing and euphoric high. It won’t space you out but it is pretty potent and will have some folks pinned to the couch for much of the night. That said; she shouldn’t leave you struggling to hold a conversation. These qualities have made the prize-winning strain (High Times Cannabis Cup, 2000) a favorite among Amsterdam coffeeshop visitors for years.
Medical: Ongoing research has suggested that high THC and low CBD strains may have potential benefits including relieving symptoms of Glaucoma. Although thought to be more effective when working together with CBD, THC is also understood to have some pain-relieving properties on its own. Considering this, this high THC strain may also provide some relief from general aches and pains.
Grow characteristics: Relatively easy to grow, but not the easiest of all – she can be a fussy feeder, so getting water and nutrient levels spot on can be tricky. If you’re a complete novice gardener you may want to start out with an autoflowering strain instead. Under ideal conditions though she can produce good yields of consistently stable product. Plants will be short, stocky and compact. Buds are gorgeous: colorful, sticky, dense, covered in bright orange hair and frosty as hell. Flowers easily.
